So, today I am going to be talking about a controversial topic but I think it is one needed as I really want to express why in my opinion tea is vastly better to drink than coffee.
I will go through to begin with, my journey with tea and why I chose it against coffee, then further go onto the benefits of drinking tea and finally finish off with some arguments that some people make about tea and my answers to them.
Please note, this is purely based on my opinion, I am not suggesting in anyway that if you drink coffee you are not a good person or something stupid like that!

As mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, my journey began with my brother introducing me to tea, however at the time i had drunk coffee and was interested in it, the taste was quite unique and interesting but i didn't like the effects it gave to me, i felt way too energetic and started to get stomach cramps eventually if i drank more then 2 cups in a day.
So, after my brother introduced me to tea, I immediately wanted to switch on over because of the fact that tea didn't give me those effects on my body and in my opinion was much more refreshing.
I began with some simple tea bags and later that advanced up to loose leaf of course, but what made me take that step was honestly doing a bit of research and knowing that there were more different kinds by going into my local tea shops and asking for some advice on what I might like or looking up more about tea online and buying some.
Coffee to me just wasn't the same as tea because the taste, in my opinion, was not altogether worth it for the stomach cramps I would get and the over-energetic boost.

One of the key reasons why people drink tea other than the taste of it is due to its health benefits. For me, that was not quite entirely the reason and more for the effects of drinking tea compared to coffee however it was something that definitely contributed to my decision to switch over to tea.
Most teas, in general, are quite healthy for you and can heavily contribute to various ways of helping individuals from making feel refreshed and energised all the way to help with mental health. For some, drinking tea is a necessity in life that they can't miss and for others its more for enjoyment.
With that being said, green tea is renowned to be one of the healthiest types of teas out there that you can drink due to its antioxidants and chemical properties, I go more into detail about this in my green tea blog post.
However on top of the generalised health benefits, one of the main things that people forget is that tea, is not just black tea in a bag, there are tons and tons of different kinds, and you can explore these according to what you prefer! Coffee, on the other hand, is well just coffee, sure you can get different roasts, blends and different type of coffee beans grown from other countries but in general, its the same product, tea, on the other hand, is variety and is heavily expandable to different types and kinds for anyone needs.

Okay, so I have heard it all before in the past where people go up to me ask questions about tea, so I thought id put some in this blog post just to show you my answers to some common questions people have:
Tea is boring and bland, its quite tasteless, why would you drink something like that when you have coffee which actually tastes like something?
Firstly, tea is not boring! Tea is vastly more interesting than coffee, as I said before, there are tons of different kinds and all are individual and unique, coffee, on the other hand, is just coffee there's nothing more to it than that. Secondly, the tea your drinking is probably tasteless because you are either brewing it wrong or most likely the reason is that you have bought a teabag from the shop and tried to drink it and it tastes bad. There are multiple companies out there that make tea, just because one of them may be bad and cheap, doesn't mean at all that all of the others are the same. Try a different brand or I would recommend just trying some loose leaf tea and seeing what you think!
Sure, but coffee gives me a boost, and that's something I want from a hot drink to help me in the day.
Now, look if you want a big boost from a hot drink then coffee is a good choice but there are different kinds of teas out there that give you the same effect if not more or similar. Try some Matcha! Matcha is a great way to get a boost and is even used in cafes now for making Matcha Lattes or even recipes! However, if you don't like matcha, id recommend getting some good quality green and black teas as they have high caffeine content in them!
Okay, but isn't tea more expensive than coffee?
Tea is vastly cheaper than coffee in my opinion, you can get more out of tea than you can with coffee and depending on the brand you buy from depends on the price of course. But if you know where to look for, then you can get some great quality tea for a great price! Read some of my other blogs for some recommendations to help you in where to buy tea online or in person!
So there we go, that's my overall verdict of why I prefer tea more than coffee. But in short just to summarise, the taste is better in my opinion, the effects are healthier, the culture and story of tea is a lot more interesting, the variety and choices are vastly bigger than coffee and the overall attitude to drinking tea helps people in many ways whether it be mentally or physically.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post today all about tea compared to coffee and thank for your reading!
